Quvio Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2026
This policy covers the Quvio mobile application for Android, published by SALIM TECHONOLOGIES, trading as SALIM Technologies ("we", "us"). It is separate from the policy for our website.
The short version
Quvio runs on your device. Your recordings, their transcripts, and everything the app derives from them, such as tags, to-dos and the search index, stay in Quvio's private storage on your phone. There is no account, no ads, no analytics library and no crash reporting library, and we operate no server that receives anything from the app.
Quvio does use the network for one thing, and only one. The first time you transcribe a memo, and the first time you use smart search, the app downloads a small AI model so it can do that work on your device. Those downloads are described below. No audio and no transcript is ever uploaded.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect, receive, store off your device, sell, or share any personal information. We operate no servers that receive data from the app, and we have no way to identify you.
What stays on your device
Your voice memos, their audio files, the transcripts Quvio produces from them, and anything you or the app adds, such as titles, tags, to-dos and notes, are stored only in Quvio's private storage on your own device, where other apps cannot read them. So is the search index the app builds to find your memos. None of it is uploaded, because in this version the app has nowhere to upload it to. Uninstalling Quvio deletes all of it.
Transcription and search happen on your device
Quvio transcribes your recordings and powers its smart search using AI models that run entirely on your phone. Your audio and your transcripts are not sent anywhere for this: the work happens locally, and it works with no network connection once the models are present.
What uses the network
Downloading the AI models
The on-device models are not shipped inside the app, to keep the download small. The first time you transcribe a memo, Quvio downloads a speech-to-text model (about 57 MB), and the first time you use smart search it downloads a search model (about 37 MB). Both come from Hugging Face, a public model host. The app downloads only those model files. It sends nothing about you and nothing from your memos. Like any download, Hugging Face's server can see your IP address and the fact that a file was requested; it receives no identifier of ours and nothing that identifies you beyond that. The models are downloaded once and then reused, so this does not repeat.
That is the only network activity in this version of Quvio. There is no other server it contacts.
Reminders
Any reminders Quvio shows are local notifications, scheduled on your device by the app itself. No reminder passes through a server, and no push notification service is used.
Permissions
- Microphone (
RECORD_AUDIO), to record your voice memos. The app only records while you are recording. - Internet, used solely to download the AI models described above. No memo content travels over it.
- Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS), to show reminders on your device. The app works without it. - Biometric / fingerprint (
USE_BIOMETRIC,USE_FINGERPRINT), used only for the optional app lock, so you can require your device unlock before opening Quvio. This is handled entirely by Android; your biometric data never reaches the app and never leaves your device.
Quvio explicitly declines permissions it does not need, including location, contacts and external storage. They are blocked in the app's manifest rather than merely left unused.
Optional cloud features
Quvio is built to offer optional, opt-in features that would use the network, such as AI-generated insights, encrypted backup to your own Google Drive, and export to Google Docs or Notion. None of them is active in this release. If a future version turns one on, it will be opt-in, it will send data only to a service you connect with your own account, and we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure before that version ships.
Third parties
Quvio contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDK that receives your data. The only server it contacts is Hugging Face, to download the model files described above.
If you install Quvio from Google Play, Google processes the download under its own policies. We receive only the aggregate, anonymous statistics Google shows to any developer, such as install counts.
Children
Quvio is suitable for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads and no purchases.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, export, correct, or delete. Your memos are under your control on your device: edit or delete any of them in the app, or remove everything by uninstalling it.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Quvio adds any feature that sends your data off the device, we will update this policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure before that version ships, and any such feature will be clearly optional and off by default.
